Here is a Google map I have assembled showing the locations of houses of worship in Birmingham, Alabama, associated with various religions. I’ve included all of the non-Christian groups of which I am aware in the area. I’ve also included Messianic Jewish synagogues.

I first put a list like this together twenty years ago for the benefit of students in my courses on World Religions at Samford University. Students visit a couple communities as part of the course, normally these are one of the area’s Jewish congregations, the Hoover Crescent Islamic Center, or the Shambhala Meditation Center. Some of the other communities shown on the map do not routinely expect visitors. They also visit some Christian churches, but I have not included them on this map.
