Mount Olive Baptist Church sits at 2621 5th Avenue South in Birmingham, Alabama, very near the Red Mountain Expressway. This neighborhood was once residential, but had become entirely commercial by the end of the twentieth century. Though in recent years some new 4 or 5 story apartment/condo blocks have been erected.
This photos were taken in June 2022.
The cornerstone appears to indicate that while the building was completed in 1980, the cornerstone was added in 1986. Given the conditions around the stone, it appears that this is when the church’s rough-face facade was added.
