The Abundant Life Worship Center meets in a 1929 building originally erected for Jones Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Unlike a lot of Southern Methodist churches of this size, this one does not have any twins in the Birmingham area that I am aware of. The church is located at 5904 8th Street South in Lipscomb, Alabama

  2. My grandparents Dr. E.L. McFee Jr and Mabel V. Williams were married at that church in 1941. E.L. finished Birmingham-Southern shortly thereafter and was ordained to the Methodist ministry. He served churches in Courtland and Goodwater, was vice-president of Athens College, then served as senior pastor at 1st Methodist Athens, District Superintendent for the Tuscaloosa District, senior pastor of 1st Methodist Anniston, then senior pastor of Trinity UMC in Homewood from 1970-1982. E.L and Mabel’s 40th anniversary celebration was right there at Jones Memorial in 1981.
